Thoughts on Energy Innovation and Technological Mission
Lecturer: Zou Caineng (academician, from Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, RIPED)
Time: Octber 30th, 2018, 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Venue: Lecture hall, SWPU library
Lecturer: Zou Caineng, an oil-gas geologist, was born in Chongqing September, 1963. Having graduated from Southwest Petroleum institute in 1987, he was awarded the PhD by RIPED in 2004 and Chinese Academy of Sciences academician in 2017. He has been in charge of Tight oil and gas research and development center and appointed as the first director of National Energy Shale Development (Experimental) Center and the RIPED vice president.
He has long been engaged in conventional-unconventional oil and gas geological research and exploration work and invented unconventional oil and gas geology theories. He first discovered older shale gas formations and industrially valuable Nano pores outside North America, revealing unconventional oil and gas “continuous Type” accumulation rules, pioneered the concept of “artificial oil and gas reservoirs” concept, proposed the idea of “orderly aggregation and coordinated development of conventional-unconventional oil and gas. He demonstrated the hydrocarbon accumulation mechanism of lithologic formations, established the central sand debris flow in the lake basin, etc.. His masterpiece Unconventional Oil and Gas Geology got published in both Chinese and English versions. He has won one first prize and one second prize for National Science and Technology Progress and the 12th “Li Siguang Geological Scicnce Award.
