On November 17^th, the 5^th China Universities Industrial Design Competition concluded in Guangzhou. 3 SWPU works, designed by 3 Industrial Design majors of Grade 2016 won the Gold Medal, the Bronze Medal and the Excellence Medal respectively.

A total of 1500 pieces of works were submitted by each province and the invited region, among which more than 300 pieces were selected by the committee for the final evaluation, and 10 pieces of gold, 40 pieces of silver and 80 pieces of bronze were finally selected. 6 works of Sichuan Province entered the final evaluation, and 3 of them were submitted by Southwest Petroleum University.

The gold-medal works was designed by Guo Sijin, titled “Living Room Furniture Design for Modern Youth”. The bronze-medal works was designed by Xiong Weijie, titled “Slow Life: Leisure Space Furniture Design”. The excellence-medal was Liu Xingyu's “Handheld Multi-functional Electric Cutting Machine Design”.

China Universities Industrial Design Competition is the top-level professional competition for college students majoring in Industrial Design in China. It has been held every two years since 2012. There are nearly a thousand industrial design colleges and universities and tens of thousands of Industrial Design majors participating in this competition.
